One year of the Gameful Leadership Guild completed

Shortly after the start of the first COVID lockdown in the UK I created an online service to help people involved in gamification projects – the Gameful Leadership Guild. I mentioned it to a few people and quickly got the first group up and running. We met for a 2 hour action learning session every week to start with (after 3 months this moved to being every other week and for a 3 hour session).

Originally I envisioned it as a way to progress practical gamification training on live projects but it quickly evolved into something broader and deeper. Part support group, part non-executive board of advisors and a lot of fun too!

All the gamification projects being run by members of the guild have come a long way in that year (whether launched or iterated upon multiple times). Also we have seen many spin offs, including one member gaining £500,000 in innovation grant funding on ideas gestated in the guild, another being promoted as a result and a new health related gamification podcast launching in June (keep your ears open for ‘Health Points’).

I’m extremely proud of the Guild and of the achievements of the gamification leaders who have been helped so far. I’m now looking to start another one or two Guild groups and start helping a new batch of gamification project and product owners to achieve success in their work and careers. Take a look at my newly launched joining page for the Gameful Leadership Guild and see if it could be for you:

See you soon I hope!
